According to Caught Offside, Arsenal might benefit off of their previous deal with Manchester which involved Van Persie. It seems that the two sides have stayed in great terms which could facilitate Fellaini’s arrival to Emirates. He would make a great addition to Wenger’s midfield section who has had plenty of problems during the entire season.

After losing Song to Barcelona, Arsenal failed to find a replacement for the defensive midfielder. Hopefully Fellaini who is only 26 will become the player the Gunners need to maintain a steady rhythm throughout the entire Premier League season. Even though he was excellent while at Everton, the Belgian never made an impact with United. He only started in 15 games which got him thinking. Moyes’s departure is also a factor that could improve Arsenal’s chances of signing Fellaini who cost the side from Manchester £27.5million but can now leave for almost half that amount.

The Belgian midfielder looks like a great replacement for Arteta who is no longer part of Wenger’s plans. The Spaniard had mediocre performances at best during this season. Age is also an issue with Arteta who is among the oldest in Wenger’s squad.

If Fellaini manages to get his form back, he would make for a great transfer. Arsenal could surely need some power alongside the middle of the pitch. Wilshere and Ramsey are attacking midfielders which can be perfectly complemented by a defensive midfielder such as the 26 year old.
