Arsenal to confirm striker arrival early July

Sources have suggested that Arsenal’s quest for Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain is almost at an end, but a positive one.

What has been the longest transfer saga of the summer so far, looks to be nearing a conclusion with the North London club likely to announce his arrival at the beginning of July in a transfer deal worth £21.7m.

The finer details of the contract are sketchy but it is believed that Arsenal’s lawyers have added “exceptional” bonuses should the team win any silverware during the 2013/14 season.

It has been somewhat longwinded this summer regarding Higuain, but is certain to please the fans, who have become accustomed to long drawn out transfer sagas, usually ending in one of the Emirates players departing, or someone younger or inexperienced arrive at the club.

There should be further developments around July 2nd.
