Wenger is looking for his first transfer of the summer after Arsenal have been left trailing by Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United. Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez made the Frenchman’s wish-list after rumors had it, the Chilean is no longer wanted by the new management. According to Metro, the 25 year old could be part of a £19.4million deal which represents the opening bid sent by the Gunners to Catalonia. Despite the Chilean’s desire to stay in Barcelona, it seems that the club is no longer interested in the forward’s services who is also being monitored by Juventus and Napoli. Liverpool is also a viable alternative considering the fact that Barcelona may want to use him as leverage to bring in Luis Suarez.

Hopefully Arsenal will increase their offer until Barcelona are satisfied. It would be a pity to lose such an important player which will probably not be available again anytime soon. The Gunners are in desperate need of some strong players who can make a difference on the pitch. Wenger’s squad is a little thin which was obvious during last season. Considering that Sagna, Fabianski and Bendtner have left, Vermaelen and Cazorla are one foot out the door and that Szczesny is the only keeper at the club, things don’t look that good for Arsenal. With their biggest transfer budget in the club’s history it is still strange to see that no transfers are actually being done especially with so many important players being up for grabs.
