Arsenal To Bring Back Former Captain

Cesc Fabregas who left for Barcelona might return to play under Wenger’s supervision again. Arsenal’s management seems interested in resigning their former midfielder who has also made Manchester United’s wish-list. It is hard to believe though, that Fabregas would choose to return to the Premier League in a different place than North London. According to Metro, the 27 year old who has made over 100 appearances for Barcelona is ready to leave for £30million which is about what Manchester are offering.

Things are not set in stone yet as Barcelona are undergoing some important changes. With Luis Enrique just settling in, it is hard to say what will happen with Arsenal’s former captain. The Gunners do have an advantage over all other candidates. Apparently Fabregas’s transfer contract to Barca contains a buy-back clause which could work in the North Londoners’ favor.

Wenger is not the main reason why Arsenal might sign Fabregas. It appears that the Gunners’ managerial team are insisting on activating the buy-back clause despite not actually needing to fill a spot in the mid-section of the pitch. With Wilshere, Ramsey and Ozil in top form, spending money on Fabregas would be somewhat useless. Arsenal need a striker, a defender and also a substitute goalkeeper. The right-back position is also awaiting to be filled after Sagna decided to leave the club.
