Arsenal Target World Cup Penalty Hero Keylor Navas!

The Gunners have lost reserve goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski to Swansea and Wenger is now on the lookout for another goalie to challenge Wojciech Szczesny as Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper.

The World Cup is currently a shop window for goalkeepers looking for a lucrative move in the summer with many performing admirably for their country. One short-stopper who has stood out is Costa Rican Navas, who was phenomenal between the sticks during his country’s penalty shootout victory over Greece.

The 27-year-old is already being touted as the best keeper at the finals by his teammates with Costa Rica defying all odds to gain a place in the quarter-finals where they will face Netherlands. Even former Man City and West Ham striker Wanchope has heaped praise on Navas.

According to the Mirror, he said, “Navas is the best keeper in Spain and I think he is the best keeper at the World Cup. He has made some really great saves – of course the penalty – and I think he will end up at a great, great club.”

Arsenal will be hoping they are the ‘great’ club Navas joins this summer but even Liverpool are interested in his services.

Do you think Arsenal should chase Navas, who has one year remaining on his contract with Levante and a £6.5 million release clause?
