Arsenal Target Free Transfer Swoop For Bundesliga Star But They Will Need To Fight Off NINE Other Teams To Get Him

Arsenal are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud, according to reports in the German media.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and he has already confirmed that he will leave Signal Iduna Park on a free transfer.

Dahoud has been sidelined for most of the campaign with a shoulder injury but he has been a regular starter for Dortmund in recent years and he is expected to be in demand this summer.

No less than nine other European teams are pursuing the German’s services, including Leicester, Atletico Madrid, Napoli, AC Milan, Roma, Sevilla, Real Betis, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

As he will be a free agent, though, his agents are likely to be demanding a high salary, which could put the Gunners in a very good position to seal his signature.

Manager Mikel Arteta is not exactly short of playmakers in the middle of the park, with Jorginho, Fabio Vieira and Granit Xhaka all in the first-team squad, so we shall see if the London club do make a move for the player.
