Arsenal are interested in signing Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, according to reports in the UK. The Spaniard only joined the Bees from Blackburn Rovers last summer but he has been in impressive form as the Championship side narrowly missed out on promotion to the top flight.
The 24-year-old, who is valued at £3.6m by Transfermarkt, has been recommended to manager Mikel Arteta by goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana, who has only recently joined the Gunners from Brentford.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Raya is believed to be related to the impending departure of Emi Martinez. Despite the Argentinian international’s impressive performances at the back of end of last campaign, it is believed that Arteta still sees Bernd Leno as his number one. With that being the case, it has been decided that Martinez will be allowed to leave so he can get first-team football. A £20m price tag has been slapped on the 27-year-old.
