Arsenal are keeping tabs on Sevilla youngster Antonio Zarzana, according to Estadio Deportivo. The Seville based newspaper claims the Gunners are monitoring the 17-year-old’s situation.

The central midfielder is already a Spanish Under 18 international, but he has found it hard to make his breakthrough at club level, having yet to play for the first team.

Real Madrid tried to sign Zarzana in May, but the teenager turned down the offer as he wanted to make his senior debut for Sevilla. He was also tracked by Liverpool and Bayern Munich before he signed a professional contract.

However, progress for the midfielder hasn’t been smooth, and he hasn’t even featured for Sevilla’s B team this season after making his breakthrough last campaign.

The Gunners may look to take advantage of Zarzana’s lack of minutes, although there is likely to be competition for his signature if he does become available in the future.
