Arsenal Target Casillas Happy To Stay At Madrid

Arsenal have lost their second-choice goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski after the Pole decided not to extend his contract which expired in the summer. Fabianski, who joined Swansea on a free transfer last month, was the first-choice in the FA Cup and played a crucial role as the Gunners broke their nine-year trophy drought to lift the FA Cup.

Manager Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for replacements and has cast his eye to Madrid to strengthen his goalkeeping department. Casillas has been a long-term target for Wenger and the Frenchman is hopeful of taking advantage of his situation at the club.

Casillas is no longer the first-choice goalie at the club, although he started the Champions League matches.

However, in what will be a major blow for Wenger, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Casillas will be staying at Bernabeu next season, according to Metro. Ancelotti said, “Casillas is very happy to stay here, and we’re happy that he’s staying.”
