Arsenal Target £5 Million Rated Liverpool Goalkeeper

Spanish stopper, Pepe Reina spent the entirety of last season on loan at Serie A side Napoli managed by former Reds boss Rafael Benitez. With Brendan Rodgers having established Simon Mignolet as Liverpool’s new number one goalie, Reina’s future seemingly lies away from Anfield.

It was expected that Reina will make his loan move to Napoli permanent in the summer but that particular deal has hit a snag. According to reports emanating from Italy, Napoli have turned down the chance to buy Reina on a full-time basis due to his high wage demands.

This has opened the door for Arsenal to move in and make a bid for Reina, who was subject to a bid of £20 million by Arsenal four summers ago. Arsene Wenger is still a fan of the 31-year-old and he is targeting a £5 million move for Reina, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners are in the market for a new goalie after the departure of second-choice Lukas Fabianski and Wenger believes Reina would be a perfect addition to his squad. Do you think Wenger should make a move for Liverpool’s Pepe Reina?
