Arsenal Women all-star Lia Waelti has celebrated her new contract with the Gunners by posting on her official Instagram account.
While it is currently unclear how long her new contract will tie her down at the club for, she seems very happy to remain a Gunner – the 30-year-old has been an Arsenal player since 2018.
For the post’s caption, Waelti wrote: “It became Arsenal, it stayed Arsenal and it will stay Arsenal. I love this club. I love this family.”
A number of Waelti’s Arsenal contemporaries showed support for her and liked the post, including Manuela Zinsberger, Caitlin Foord and Lotte Wubben-Moy.
Additionally, several other fellow footballers left a comment on the post – among them were Steph Catley, Emma Mitchell and former Arsenal men’s captain Granit Xhaka.
Lia Waelti’s New Contract
On Waelti’s new contract, head coach Jonas Eidevall said: “I’m delighted that Lia is staying with us at Arsenal. She is one of the best midfielders in world football and brings us so much in terms of leadership and presence.
“Lia has played a pivotal role within this team during my time here and I’m looking forward to continuing to work together to achieve our goals.”
