Arsenal Star Given One Last Chance To Shine

It’s been almost 10 years since Tomas Rosicky first stepped on London ground in order to sign the deal of his life. The Czech international who turned 35 almost a month ago left Dortmund to join Wenger’s squad back in 2006 and has been playing for Arsenal since then. This brilliant midfielder who spent some of his glory years in the Bundesliga came to the UK where everyone expected him to become one of the most spectacular midfielder imports in years. His amazing technique and style helped him stand out right from the start. He quickly became a fan favorite after scoring twice against Liverpool at Anfield during an FA Cup clash. Unfortunately, his progression was cut short by a knee injury that kept him on the bench 434 consecutive days. It was basically the decisive moment of his career. Since then the now 35-year-old midfielder has suffered some really bad luck. What is even worse is that seemingly every time he returned, a new injury appeared.

After spending a year and a half practicing and recovering he went through surgery in order to treat an achilles tendon problem. That kept him off the pitch for 160 more days, adding to a quite unpleasant period for him. Unfortunately, this is the 3rd injury in terms of recovery time. In December 2014 he had a hamstring problem which got overlapped with a knee operation. He is now totaling a further 225 days spent outside of the starting eleven. According to Squawka he will be returning in January for what will probably be his last couple of games for Arsenal. With his contract set to expire in 2016, it is very likely to see him return to his home town to perform at least one more year after his deal with the Gunners expires. It is a great shame we did not get to see this amazing midfielder play more at the peak of his powers without injury hampering him.
