Arsenal Star Calls On Emery To Give Him Regular Game Time After Fine Run Of Form

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers says he needs regular game time in order to continue his development at the club. The 24-year-old was excellent against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, providing three assists, and he says he wants more minutes to build on his good form:

“I feel like I’m bringing the experiences I’ve had over the past few years into my game too. I just want to keep developing, keep working hard and keep improving things every day. That’s all I can do, to focus on being the best player I can.”

“I think to establish yourself here, you need to play week in, week out. It’s the same at every club you go to. When you’re playing week in, week out that’s when you really establish yourself to the team and the fans.”

Whether Chambers will get what he wants, it remains to be seen. The fullback position seems to be where he has been excelling most in recent games, but he will have fierce competition from Hector Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Manager Unai Emery has already said that Bellerin is unlikely to feature against Manchester United on Monday, but Chambers still has to challenge Maitland-Niles for a starting place.

The young fullback is available after serving his one-match suspension for his sending off against Aston Villa last weekend. Chambers will be hoping his performance against Forest will be enough for him to be given the nod at Old Trafford.
