Arsenal Owner Stan Kroenke Makes Interesting Saudi Arabia Kylian Mbappe Transfer Claim

Arsenal majority owner Stan Kroenke has recently spoken on the availability of Kylian Mbappe and whether he believes of he will move to a club in the Saudi Pro League or not.

Mbappe has been linked with a move to several clubs this summer, as his PSG exit appears to loom ever closer – the Gunners are among them.

He also talked about Manchester City’s owners, who are also situated in the Middle East. Kroenke believes that, despite the vast swathes of financial resources at their disposal, neither City nor any club in Saudi Arabia will be able to snap up Mbappe this summer.

Additionally, despite the exodus of player from Europe to Saudi Arabia in the ongoing window, Kroenke does not believe they will be a long-term threat to the current heirarcy of top clubs.

What did Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke have to say regarding Kylian Mbappe?

At a CNBC event, Kroenke said [via Tribal Football]:”I’ve had Middle Eastern people of prominence involved in teams ask me, and I like them by the way, they’re great guys.

“Manchester City are great people but they just do things differently because they have a whole lot of money and they’ve asked me, ‘do you think we could ever run our leagues over here like you do in the US?’

“They think about it, that’s an outlier, I understand that [Kylian] Mbappe is not wanting to do that, I doubt that he will. Maybe I should be concerned but I’m not terribly concerned by it. I’ve been around in these leagues so long. It’s not as easy as you think. It’s hard.

Who is Mbappe most likely to sign for in the summer?

Currently, there are three clubs leading the pack to snap up Mbappe in the summer – Chelsea, Real Madrid and Arsenal.

Currently, it is unclear as to where Mbappe will be next season. He has yet to accept an official offer from any club as things stand.

However, PSG are under serious pressure to move him on in the current window – or they risk losing the French superstar on a free transfer when his contract expires in 2024.
