Arsenal, Spurs And Sevilla ‘Taking The Lead’ In Battle To Sign Mexican Star But His Club Are Refusing To Sell

Arenal, Tottenham and Sevilla are all interested in signing Porto wingback Jesus Corona, according to A BOLA.

The Portuguese tabloid claims that the three clubs are “taking the lead” in the race to sign the Mexican international, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

However, even though Corona’s current deal is running down, A BOLA report that Porto are “not willing” to sell the player “at any price” despite the interest being shown in him

A release clause, which would have allowed the 28-year-old to leave the Estadio do Dragao for €25m (£21.3m), expired earlier this month so the Gunners would have to negotiate a fee with Porto.

There have been some doubts over whether Corona would be a good fit for Mikel Arteta’s side. He could be a replacement for Hector Bellerin at right-back but he is more comfortable playing further up the pitch, so we shall see if the London club do firm up their interest.
