Arsenal Set To Undergo Important Changes

The 23 year old Francis Coquelin, who was given a professional contract by Arsenal back in 2008, will be looking to join French side, Tours which is currently performing in France’s second division. According to TalkSport, the 23 year old will be leaving Emirates for good at the end of June. The French U21 international who has failed to impress since first moving to London, has been sent on loan with Lorient in 2010. He also played for Freiburg in the 2013-2014 season but failed to stand out. Managing just 21 appearances for the Gunners, he will be allowed to go wherever he sees fit.

With just a little over a year left of contract, the young midfielder is uncertain of his future. The only team currently interested in his services is Tours which would be a bit of a step back for Coquelin. Even though the Frenchman made some sporadic appearances in his 6 year Arsenal career, he seems no different from Bendtner who was seen as a great player but failed to impress over and over again. Compared to players like Ramsey and Wilshere who are about the same age, the 23 year old is years behind in terms of attitude and determination.

Coquelin will probably join a long list of departures which leaves Wenger desperate for some incoming transfers. Several players seem to have made the Frenchman’s wish-list but none of them have yet to sign a deal.
