Arsenal Set To Offer Midfielder £70k A Week, Five Year Contract

Arsenal will offer Matteo Guendouzi a new contract, according to the Sun. The newspaper reports that the Gunners will look to double the Frenchman’s wages.

The midfielder signed a four-year contract last summer, worth approximately £40,000 a week. His new deal will reportedly see him earn more than £70,000 a week, with his contract extended until 2024.

Guendouzi has started this season in good form, with manager Unai Emery having started him in both of the club’s victories so far against Newcastle and Burnley.

The Arsenal boss is believed to see the 20-year-old as a key player for the London club going forward and is keen for the midfielder to commit his long-term future.

Guendouzi only joined from Lorient for £7m a year ago, but despite his age, he has already made 50 appearances for the first team. The Gunners are looking to ensure that one of their best young players is tied down for his best years.
