Arsenal Set To Lose Out On Two Loan Deals But One Signing Is Still Possible

Arsenal will not sign either Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic or Dalian Yifang’s Yannick Carrasco on loan before the transfer deadline, according to the BBC’s David Ornstein.

Inter are adamant that they want to sell Perisic outright and ended all talks with the Gunners yesterday. The London club wanted a loan deal with an option to buy. They were willing to include a penalty fee if they didn’t purchase the Croatian but the proposal was rejected.

In Carrasco’s case, Dalian have been looking for a higher loan fee that what Arsenal were offering and needed to find a replacement before offloading the Belgian.

It is believed AC Milan offered a better deal but the player is now more likely to stay with the Chinese Super League club until the end of the season.

The only other possible incoming transfer is Paris Saint-Germain’s Christopher Nkunku. The stumbling block in this deal is believed to be the future fee.

The Gunners want a loan with an option to buy the 21-year-old next summer but are only offering €20m, which is well below PSG’s asking price.
