Arsenal Set To Cut 7M Off Asking Price As They Close In On First Summer Signing

Arsenal are hopeful they can sign Brighton goalkeeper Maty Ryan for just £3m this summer, according to reports in the English media.

The Gunners took the Australian international on loan during the January transfer window when it was believed the Seagulls were asking for as much as £10m to sign the player on a permanent basis.

However, it appears Ryan’s price tag has gone down significantly since then, with a deal in the region of £3m to £5m now believed to be in sight ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ryan made only his second appearance for Arsenal against Fulham at the weekend, with number one Bernd Leno having been rested by manager Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners are keen to have a strong permanent backup option for the German, after seeing Runar Runarsson struggle badly when asked to fill in between the posts in the first half of the campaign.
