Arsenal could reignite their interest in Atletico Madrid winger Gelson Martins this summer, according to the Sun.
The Gunners reportedly tried to sign the Portuguese international last summer when he was still a Sporting Lisbon player.
Since then, Martins has moved to Atletico Madrid but quickly found himself out of favour under manager Diego Simeone.
The 23-year-old played just 12 games for the Spanish club before being shipped out to Monaco on loan in the January transfer window.
Martins has performed well since making his debut for the Ligue One club, scoring three goals and laying on three assists in eight appearances so far.
With Atletico said to be prepared to offload the winger on a permanent basis in the summer, Arsenal may look at making a move for a talented young player.
The London club have been looking at strengthening in wide areas with Rennes’ Ismaila Sarr, Roma’s Cengiz Under and Boca Juniors’ Cristian Pavon all having been linked in recent months.
