Arsenal have “set their sights” on signing Palmeiras midfielder Danilo at the end of the season, according to Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi).

The Italian radio station believe that Lazio are also interested in the Brazilian, who is expected to move to Europe during the summer transfer window.

Danilo was heavily linked with the Gunners in January, but no formal bid was made for the 20-year-old, who won the Copa Libertadores with Palmeiras at the end of November last year.

The Brazilian Serie A side could sell up for around €20m (£16.7m), which would make him a pretty economical purchase as Arsenal look to reinforce their options in midfield.

Manager Mikel Arteta has limited selection choices in the middle of the park at the moment and, with Mohamed Elneny expected to leave the Emirates when his contract expires in June, the club will have to strengthen their numbers in that area of the pitch.
