Arsenal Set For Unexpected Transfer Opportunity

English international, James Milner seems keen on leaving Manchester in order to join a different Premier League team. The 28 year old who came to City back in 2010 is unhappy with his current situation at the club. Despite managing 48 appearances this season he has already spoken with Pellegrini about his departure. According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal could be the midfielder’s next destination. Wenger’s thin squad cost him the title this year and reinforcements are always welcome.

Milner would be a great addition to the Gunners’ squad. His versatility would allow him to play in any midfield position. His experience is also a big advantage. Winning 2 Premier League titles with City really means something considering none of Arsenal’s current players have won the title.

The 28 year old is going to cost about £10million which should not be an issue for Arsenal. Even so the North Londoners are not the only ones eying Milner. Liverpool who were closer than ever to winning the Premier League, might send an offer to Manchester. One other issue might come between The Gunners and their first transfer. City need to keep a number of English internationals in order to be able to perform in the Champions League. With all the other internationals except Hart being placed on the transfer list, it will be difficult to snatch Milner who had a great season compared to Micah Richards, or Jack Rodwell who barely made the team and Gareth Barry had to go out on loan to get games at Everton and it is unlikely he will be back in favour with Manuel Pellegrini so Arsenal could also pursue him.
