Arsenal Secure Bellerin With Long-Term Deal

Since Hector Bellerin came into the Arsenal first XI to replace the injured French international Mathieu Debuchy he has been an absolute revelation with his extraordinary pace going forward and his solid defensive work. Bellerin joined Arsenal back in 2011 as a 16 year old coming from Barcelona. After his brilliant displays over the past 2 seasons he has seen himself become a full Spanish international and has become a target for not only his old club but also the likes of Manchester City and other big European clubs.

As ESPNFC are reporting, Bellerin has committed his future to the Gunners by signing a new 6 year contract which reportedly puts him on a par with many of Arsenal’s top players. Arsenal will be greatly relieved to have signed one of their prize assets to a new deal and in so doing will avoid the repeat of such situations as Baccary Sagna and Samir Nasri who both left Arsenal to join the Citizens.

The new deal for Bellerin is reportedly worth £95,000 per week and secures the right back until the end of the 2021-2022 season. Signing the 21 year old Bellerin means the Arsenal defence has a bright future moving forward with Shkodran Mustafi only 24 years old, Kieran Gibbs only 27 years old and Rob Holding and Calum Chambers both only 21 years old. So the Gunners look to have a defensive base in place for the long-term which has to be a good thing as the players will develop their games together as they get older.
