Arsenal Scouting Polish Midfielder

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are making attempts to sign Polish midfielder Dominik Furman, as the Legia Warsaw player continues to impress the likes of Arsene Wenger after showing a constant improvement in his ability as a holding midfielder.

Arsenal continue to strengthen their youth squad, and Wenger has never shied away from considering a young player who has potential to grow over a period of time. The French boss is now the longest serving manager in the Barclays Premier League, and has developed a deep understanding of the abilities of young players. The very fact that the club is even scouting a player in Warsaw means they have their talent hunting teams spread all over Europe. This gives Arsenal a huge exposure to fresh raw talent that they refine at the youth academy. In that sense, Wenger has a dependable foundation to fall back on in case of injuries.

The 21-year old Furman has played his youth career at Warsaw, and signed a professional contract in 2009. He has played a total of 46 matches for the club, and scored 3 goals in the process. Wenger has signed holding midfielders in the form of Abou Diaby in the past, but the Frenchman’s career has been sadly ravaged by injury. Even though most of his international experience has been at the under-21 level, Furman has represented Poland national team on two occasions, and that is a considerable feat at his age. One to watch perhaps?
