Arsenal Revive Interest In La Liga Midfield Maestro With 6 Goals And 5 Assists In 13 Games This Season

Arsenal have reignited their interest in Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler, according to reports in the Spanish media.

The 24-year-old was actually a target in last year’s January transfer window, and his form since the start of this campaign has led to the Gunners weighing up another move for the Spaniard.

Soler has been a key player for Los Che, bagging six goals and contributing five assists in 13 appearances, having been moved to a central midfield role by new head coach Javi Gracia.

Valencia would reportedly be very reluctant to sell one of their best players but the financial pressures of the global health crisis mean they may be forced into offloading some of their top talent this month if they receive the right offer.

Soler does tend to play deeper than Arsenal’s other reported targets, such as Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt and Norwich’s Emi Buendia, but he could well be a perfect partner for Thomas Partey in the middle of the park.
