Arsenal Reopen Michu Negotiations After Failing To Land The Spaniard Over The Summer

Swansea’s 27 year old striker, Michu looks opened to discussions regarding his future. The Spaniard was on Arsenal’s list for a long time and may finally consider signing a deal with Wenger’s team who are in need of a striker similar to Giroud.

Michu moved to the Premier League in 2012 and scored 22 times since then. After his transfer to Swansea he was also called in to represent his country in a game against Belarus. Las year he also managed to win the Football League Cup with his team which has been a true revelation during the last season.

According to Metro, Arsenal still remain interested in Michu despite his poor goal scoring record for the 2013-2014 season. He found the net only two times since the beginning of the Premier League which is just one goal better than Bendtner who currently has one foot out the door.

It is very likely that Michu will leave his team in the near future considering his age. He recently declared that just as all the other players, his dream is to perform in the Champions League while trying to score for a major club.

Wenger has had scouts monitoring Michu during the past few months. Unfortunately for both them and the players, there was not much to see. The Spaniard is clearly losing his pace and is nowhere near the performances he managed last season. The good news for the 27 year old striker is that the Gunners are in desperate need of some fire power just in case something happens to Giroud.

Ramsey is Arsenal’s current top scorer which can be a bit alarming considering his positioning on the pitch. Wenger needs someone to challenge Giroud and even score more than him otherwise there is a big chance team like City and Chelsea will catch up in the next couple of months.
