Arsenal ‘Remain Interested’ In 23 Year Old Defender Who Could Be Sold For 35M This Summer

Arsenal “remain interested” in snapping up Brighton centre-back Ben White this summer, according to the Sun.

The tabloid reports that the Gunners will be joined in the race to sign the 23-year-old by both Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United.

White has been in impressive form for Brighton but the Seagulls aren’t expected to sell the defender on the cheap. Leeds tried to sign the centre-half on a permanent basis last summer, following a loan spell, but they had a £25m bid rejected.

It is believed that Brighton could hold out for at least £35m, which is a figure that may well put off Arsenal. Mikel Arteta’s side are expected to pursue new centre-back, with David Luiz not likely to stay beyond the end of his contract in June.

Whether the Gunners will look to shell out on someone like White, or consider a cheaper alternative, we shall have to wait and see.
