Arsenal Refuse To Activate Buy-Back Clause For Fabregas

Arsenal are not interested in bringing back Cesc Fabregas who is available for £30million. Barcelona have announced that the Spaniard is free to go with The Gunners having priority ahead of all other possible bidders. Unfortunately for the midfielder who had his best seasons while in London, Wenger is not keen on activating the buy-back clause. Money is not the problem as Arsenal announced a £100 million transfer budget.

Fabregas who visited London recently seems closer to Chelsea rather than Arsenal. It would be an interesting move for the Spanish international who already has only a small place in many Gooners’ hearts after the way he left Emirates. Joining the city rival may not be the smartest decision to make. Liverpool are also interested in Fabregas who will probably return to the Premier League after the World Cup in Brazil.

According to the Daily Mail, Wenger has no problem with what happened in 2011 when Fabregas insisted on leaving. The issue that is blocking the Spaniard’s return is the large number of midfielders who have similar profiles to that of Barcelona’s player. Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere and even Cazorla should take turns playing in order to make way for Fabregas.

Arsenal’s money should go elsewhere as the Gunners are in desperate need of a striker. There is no point in bringing in players who are not needed. Even though Fabregas is one of the best players in the world, his chances of returning to Emirates are close to zero.
