Arsenal are “ready” to table an offer for Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito if the Serie A club fail to agree a contract extension with the teenager, according to TMW.
The Italian website claims that the Gunners, along with Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Werder Bremen are keeping tabs on the 17-year-old’s situation.
Esposito has a year left on his current deal and Inter are in danger of losing him for minimal compensation next summer if he doesn’t sign a new contract.
The forward has been in great form for Inter’s Under 19 side this campaign, racking up 15 goals in Primavera 1, as well as scoring once in the UEFA Youth League.
Esposito has been called up by Italy for the Under 20 World Cup which starts later this week. The Azzurri take on Brazil in their first game this Sunday, before they face Nigeria and the Dominican Republic in their other two group fixtures.
