Arsenal ready to battle Chelsea and Roma for Bundesliga superstar

Arsenal are ready to step up their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey amidst interest form both Chelsea and Roma.

Bailey, 20, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bundesliga this summer after an impressive last season in Germany where he scored 12 goals and registered six assists in all competitions.


And Arsenal boss Unai Emery is now keen to land the youngster to complete his already busy summer of transfer business.

The Sun report Emery has set a date next week for talks with Bailey over a potential switch to North London, however as have Chelsea – who are want to bring the Jamaican star to the capital.

Chelsea want Bailey as a replacement for the potentially outbound Willian, who has been heavily linked with a move to either Barcelona or Manchester United.

Willian had been heavily linked to Barcelona earlier this month, however after the Catalans completed the £27 million signing of Malcom from Bordeaux only today – a move to Old Trafford is far more likely.

United boss Jose Mourinho wants a re-union with his former Stamford Bridge star as he looks to add firepower to his front-line ahead of the new campaign.

AS Roma are also thought to be interested in Bailey after being beaten to the signature of Malcom by Barcelona.
