Arsenal reach agreement with Boca Juniors for transfer of Colombia international

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Boca Juniors for the transfer of goalkeeper David Ospina, according to reports.

The Colombian international has found himself become surplus to requirements at The Emirates after Arsenal completed the £20 million signing of highly rated shot-stopper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen in recent weeks.

Leno is expected to take the number one jersey from Petr Cech, who in turn will become Unai Emery’s second choice keeper.

And according to El Dia, Ospina is now on the verge of joining Argentine side Boca Juniors as he searches for first team football away from North London.

The proposed deal will bring to an end a four-year stay in English football for Ospina, in which he made 70 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners.

The Colombia international, who impressed at this summer’s World Cup in Russia, had previously hinted he was to leave Arsenal after the conclusion of Colombia’s stay in Russia, saying: “I’m now fully concentrated on national team.

“I know that Arsenal signed new goalkeeper, but I’m now focused on national team and after the World Cup I will think what to do next.”
