Arsenal are one of five teams keeping tabs on Le Harve midfielder Pape Gueye, according to Estadio Deportivo. The Spanish newspaper claims that the Gunners, Sevilla, Valencia, AC Milan and Udinese are all interested in the France Under 19 international.
The 21-year-old has already captained Le Harve this season despite his young age, but with his contract expiring in 2021, the Ligue Two side may well have to consider letting the player go in the summer.
Estadio Deportivo have described Gueye as a “hybrid” of Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, and that would surely be a lethal combination if the hype proves to be justified.
The Frenchman has made 22 appearances for his club this campaign, scoring no goals and contributing two assists, helping his side to sixth in the table.
Gueye generally plays as a holding midfielder, although he can play in a more advanced role. He is left-footed and possesses a physical presence on the pitch.
