Arsenal Priced Out In Fellaini Chase

The London club have jumped right in the front of the queue in recent weeks and have become favorites to land the highly coveted midfielder. They are eyeing the 25-year old as the first of many new signings in what is being highly dubbed as the most crucial summer in recent years for Arsenal.

They have only recently announced that they possess a gigantic £70 million warchest, which is entirely at manager Arsene Wenger’s disposal to aid him in helping bring big name players to the Emirates Stadium. They have been linked to many players across the continent, however, the name of Fellaini has been the one which has been the most intense.

The giant Belgian national has just had a very productive season at Goodison Park which saw his stock shoot up, simultaneously attracting the interest of several big teams. Apart from Arsenal, the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United too have made informal inquiries about Fellaini. However, it is Arsenal who are being tipped as favorites to win the race for his signature. Insider reports are also suggesting that the player himself is keen to be a part of Wenger’s rebuilding project and has set his heart to a switch to Arsenal.

However, reports emerging from Metro are stating that Everton are determined to sell their player if and only any of the interested teams meet their valuation of £23 million.

This stance of Everton has left Wenger less than impressed, considering he has been put off by their huge evaluation. He does not believe that Fellaini is worth that huge amount and believes that there is a lot of room for negotiation in this deal, but Everton have made it clear that they will not budge from their asking price.

This situation has reached at a crossroads of sorts with both the clubs unwilling to give in. What does this mean for the transfer? Will the negotiations completely break down, or will Everton and Arsenal meet at some common ground right before the end of the Transfer window?
