Arsenal Preparing £40m January Offer For Argentinian Flyer

Arsenal are looking to sign Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon in the January transfer window, according to reports in the UK.

The Gunners do have some competition from another Premier League club for the Argentinian international, however, with relegation battlers Fulham also said to have made an enquiry. The Cottagers are unlikely, though, to match Boca’s price tag which is reportedly £40m.

Arsenal are said to be weighing up a bid for Pavon close to the asking price as they look to add pace in wide areas. They have been linked with similar players in Nicolas Pepe and Ismaila Sarr over the past few months, but it seems the Argentine is the club’s top target.

So far this campaign, the winger has made seven appearances and scored two goals, but he has been struggling with a number of muscular injuries, including thigh and hamstring problems.

Pavon had to be taken off just 27 minutes into the first leg of the Copa Libertadores final last month, although he did return to play 120 minutes in the second leg a couple of weeks ago.
