Arsenal are looking to head off competition for Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu by tabling a €26.5m (£24.6m) offer, according to La Razon.
The Spanish news outlet claims that the Gunners are wary of Sevilla’s interest in the player, and are prepared to make a sizeable bid to see off the challenge from the Spanish club.
With that being the case, Sevilla have already eyed a potential alternative target in Angers midfielder Baptiste Santamaria, leaving the way open for Kokcu to complete a summer switch to the Emirates.
The attacking midfielder has been in decent form for Feyenoord this campaign, having scored three goals and contributed six assists in 35 appearances.
However, Kokcu has yet to be handed a senior cap for Turkey, and if he does move to Arsenal at the end of the season, he will certainly be one for the future.
Considering the teenager plays the same position as Mesut Ozil, it could well be the case that the German becomes his mentor.
