With David Raya ineligible to play against his parent club, the England international will be recalled to start on Saturday evening.

Ramsdale’s last game for the Gunners was against West Ham in the Carabao Cup at the start of the month. It wasn’t an overly impressive performance from the 25-year-old and he will be hoping to do better versus Brentford.

Considering Arteta has seemingly already decided that Raya is now the club’s No.1, you do wonder whether Ramsdale can do anything to convince his manager that he deserves to be recalled for the long term.

If he is dropped once again for the Lens game next week, it may force the keeper into making a difficult decision on his future at the Emirates.
