Who Do Arsenal Play In Pre-Season: Fixtures, Dates And Where To Watch

Arsenal have five games to play before the start of the season against Manchester United on August 17.

The Gunners are preparing for the new season by making bid moves in the summer transfer window. They have already signed Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard, and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Furthermore, Mikel Arteta is working to bring Viktor Gyokeres to the Emirates this summer to solve the Gunners’ striker issues that they’ve had for the past few seasons.

But alongside the transfer window, Arteta also has to think about getting the most of pre-season with his squad having five matches to play before the start of the season when they face Man United at Old Trafford on August 17.

Arsenal vs AC Milan – Wednesday 23 July

Their first game comes against AC Milan at the Singapore National Stadium on Wednesday 23 July. It will kick off at 12.30pm GMT, and will be available to watch on Arsenal.com.

It costs £4.99 up until 9am on Wednesday before the price rises to £9.99 on a pay per view basis. Arsenal.com will be showing all the pre-season matches with the same pricing.

The opener against AC Milan will be a great test for the Gunners against Champions League calibre opponents.

Arsenal vs Newcastle United – Sunday 27 July

Next up, Arsenal have Premier League competition in the form of Newcastle United. They will face the Magpies after a season where Eddie Howe’s side managed to qualify for the Champions League.

Much like the AC Milan match, kick-off comes at 12.30pm and it will take place at the Singapore National Stadium too.

It will be useful for Mikel Arteta to see how his side fare against Premier League opposition.

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur – Thursday 31 July

Their third pre-season game is a clash against bitter rivals Tottenham, who will be under new management in the form of Thomas Frank.

It will be the first time that Arsenal will play against Frank’s Spurs, and they have new additions such as former West Ham attacker Mohammed Kudus.

The game against Spurs takes place at 12.30pm on Thursday 31 July, and will be played at the Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong.

Arsenal vs Villarreal – Wednesday 6 August

The first game in August will come against La Liga side Villarreal, and it will also be when the Gunners come back to England after their Asian pre-season tour.

Villarreal will come to the Emirates for the game which will kick off at 6pm, much like the other games, it’ll be shown live on Arsenal.com.

Arsenal vs Athletic Club – Saturday 9 August

Finally, the Emirates Cup final will take place on August 9, which will be Arsenal’s last pre-season game before the start of the new season.

Last year, the Gunners won the Emirates Cup 2-0 against French side Lyon. They will hope to do the same against Bilbao.

It will be an intriguing clash as Arsenal will come up against Nico Williams, a player that they were heavily linked to signing.
