Arsenal Pondering Move For Atletico Midfielder

Arsenal could be interested in Atletico Madrid midfielder Josuha Guilavogui, after the Frenchman failed to impress following his move from Saint-Etienne. A bid in the region of £11.5 million, according to Metro is being considered.

The Gunners have bought a wealth of talent to revamp the squad, with major changes in the striking and the defensive unit. Long serving player Bacary Sagna has finally departed the club, and Mathieu Debuchy will be over taking the reigns at right back. On the other hand, Alexis Sanchez will be adding more fuel to the Arsenal attack, as the club try giving assistance to Olivier Giroud. Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club’s intentions of bringing in more players has not changed, and that the final weeks of the transfer market will be hectic as always.

Arsenal have already been linked with players like Sami Khedira and William Carvalho, but the fee demanded by the respective clubs means the Gunners may have to settle for a more economical option. Also, with the Financial Fair Play rules applicable, Wenger would prefer spending as little as possible on each player.

Guilavogui began his career as a youth player with Saint-Etienne in 2005, and signed a professional contract four years later. After 96 appearances and 6 goals for the French outfit, the defensive midfielder made the move to Atletico, where he has only made one league appearance.
