Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – David Raya – 7/10 – made some great saves, but he could not do much about either goal.
RB – Jurrien Timber – 6/10 – a solid game, without really making much of an impression in the final third. He would be truly world-class if he could add that element to his game.
CB – William Saliba – 6/10 – good distribution and defensively solid, for the most part, but he did miss a glaring chance from 12 yards out before halftime.
CB – Gabriel – 5/10 – the Brazilian found Brobbey a trick customer, and he was outmuscled for Sunderland’s late equaliser.
LB – Riccardo Calafiori – 6/10 – the defender could have so easily won the game at the death, but his header from point-blank range was saved by Sunderland keeper Robin Roefs.
