Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – David Raya – 8/10 – the Spaniard made a couple of great saves from Maxi Araujo and Geny Catamo in either half.
RB – Ben White – 5/10 – completely lost Araujo for Sporting’s early chance, but he did improve slightly as the match went on.
CB – William Saliba – 7/10 – kept the dangerous Luis Suarez quiet, but he does take too much time in possession sometimes, and he was nearly caught out twice.
CB – Gabriel – 6/10 – the Brazlian didn’t have much to do, but one mishit clearance nearly caused problems.
LB – Riccardo Calafiori – 5/10 – dealt well with Catamo, for the most part, but he was sat down by Suarez, which led to a big chance late on. The Italian was also largely ineffective going forward.
