Midfield
CM – Martin Zubimendi – 7/10 – it was a neat and tidy performance from the midfielder who controlled the game.
CM – Mikel Merino – 6/10 – the Spaniard got into some good positions going forward, and won his fair share of defensive duels too.
AM – Martin Odegaard – 9/10 – the captain was at the heart of everything. He got an assist for Saka’s goal but he could have had one for the opener as well if Viktor Gyokeres had been more clinical.
Forwards
RW – Gabriel Martinelli – 7/10 – while he did put away his chance from close range, the Brazilian had missed a sitter before that.
ST – Viktor Gyokeres – 6/10 – the striker’s runs were picked out by Odegaard, which is a very good sign, but his finishing let him down.
LW – Leandro Trossard – 5/10 – the Belgian missed two very presentable chances.
