Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – David Raya – 8/10 – the Spaniard made a world-class save to tip Kevin Schade’s header onto the bar.
RB – Ben White – 8/10 – it has been a while since we have seen this level of performance from the defender. His cross for Merino’s opener was top drawer.
CB – Cristhian Mosquera – N/A – an awkward fall meant that the centre-back was forced off before halftime. It was an ankle injury, so hopefully, he has only twisted it rather than anything more serious.
CB – Piero Hincapie – 7/10 – the absence of Igor Thiago meant it was a pretty straightforward game for the Ecuadorian international.
LB – Riccardo Calafiori – 8/10 – playing as an inverted fullback really suited him. He got forward when he could (nearly scoring late on), and he was also diligent in his defensive duties.
