Arsenal Planning Raid For Two Starlets In The January Transfer Window

Arsenal are looking to sign two young players in the January transfer window, according to reports in the English media.

The Gunners’ head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is said to be targeting Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr and Bayer Leverkusen central midfielder Kai Havertz.

Sarr has been linked with a move to the Emirates for a while. The wide man has had a good start to the season with three goals and one assist in 10 matches.

However, Arsenal’s pursuit of Havertz is a new development. Mislintat has an eye for German talent and the 19-year-old is certainly one of the brightest young prospects in the Bundesliga.

The teenager has been in pretty good form in the German top-flight but it is his performances for Leverkusen in the Europa League that have really stood out.

He scored twice against Ludogorets in the opening group match, and he followed that up with a goal and an assist in the second game against AEK Larnaca earlier this month.
