Arsenal ‘Plan To Meet’ With Agents Of £18m Rated Midfield General Who Arteta is ‘Keen’ On Signing

Arsenal “plan to meet” with the representatives of Porto captain Danilo Pereira before the end of the season, according to ESPN.

The website claims that head coach Mikel Arteta is “keen” to add the level of experience that the 28-year-old could offer the Gunners, with the player having won the European Championships with Portugal as well as a league title for Porto.

Danilo’s release clause is said to be €60m (£54m) but Porto are reportedly willing to let him go for €20m (£18m) as they look to shore up their finances during the global health crisis.

In addition to his experience, the Portuguese international will also fill a need in central midfield where Arteta is looking to add some steel and physicality.

Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey was Arsenal’s number one target, but with Danilo available for €30m less, it appears the London club are now seriously considering a more economical alternative to the Ghanaian.
