The 26-year-old Angel Di Maria has scored just 4 league goals this season and he could be surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu according to a report by the Daily Star. The Argentine is under contract at Real till 2018 but he is apparently trying to seek a wage rise, which has not gone down well with the Real hierarchy.

Arsenal are closely monitoring the situation with Wenger ready to stump up the required £29 million for his services. Wenger, the longest serving manager in the EPL, wants to strengthen the squad in the summer to mount a sustained title challenge next season.

According to some reports in Spain, Arsenal have already contacted Real over the availability of di Maria. After last summer’s deadline day capture of Ozil, Wenger is now trying to lure di Maria ahead of Manchester City, who are also vying for his signature.
