Arsenal On Their Way To Their 3rd Consecutive FA Cup Trophy

Not sure if anyone can be happy after this 4-0 win against Hull. Despite going through to the next round of the FA Cup, a competition that seems to be Wenger’s new found specialty, Arsenal lost 3 important members of the team. It all started so well for the Gunners who got the ball into the net just 2 minutes into the game. Unfortunately, Walcott was well off-side and was denied the opener. It was then Campbell’s turn to raid the defense but the Costa Rican missed the target by a couple of feet. Hull took advantage of a disoriented Arsenal defense and tested Ospina’s limits. The substitute keeper was more than up to the task with some brilliant saves.

Right after Hull missed the chance to open the score, Arsenal suffered their first blow. Mertesacker was not able to carry on after a head clash that took place just a couple of minutes back. Monreal was sent in to replace the German International.

The first goal came after a massive mistake by David Mayler who basically provided the assist for Giroud’s opener. Looking at Arsenal’s goals, we could say that all were influenced by the way their adversaries behaved. From this point of view all was in Arsenal’s favor.

From an injury point of view this night could have not been more disastrous. Gabriel also had to come off after gettong a hamstring injury. Wenger had to improvise with Flamini and Chambers. Ramsey was the one replacing the Brazilian, but not for long. The Welshman was replaced by Jeff Reine-Adelaide in less than 15 minutes spent on the pitch. Lucky for Arsenal that Hull did not pose a big thread after receiving the first goal. Giroud and Walcott scored two goals each and ended this rather sad game on a high note. It`s hard to imagine what will happen if all three will be out for the next two weeks. Wenger will have his work cut out for him as Arsenal face WBA, Barcelona and Everton in the next 10 days.

Here is how Arsenal’s injury list is looking right now: Cech – Muscle Strain; Paulista – Hamstring injury; Ramsey – Thigh injury; Mertesacker – concussion; Koscielny – Shin injury; Cazorla – Achiles tendon injury; Oxlade-Chamberlain – knee injury; Rosicky – muscle injury; Wilshere; Calf/Shin injury.
