Inter Milan right-back Achraf Hakimi is “open” to making a switch to the Premier League at the end of the season, according to The Athletic‘s Dominic Fifield.
Arsenal were interested in the Moroccan international last summer but the cost of the deal put them off from making a bid, leading to his €40m (£35m) switch to Italy instead.
However, despite impressing during his first season in Italy, Inter are thought to be considering selling Hakimi due to financial issues. It means the 22-year-old could soon be available for £40m.
Whether the Gunners would have the funds to sign the fullback, it remains to be seen. Considering his asking price is now slightly higher than what it would have cost to sign him last July, you would think that a move is unlikely.
Even so, Hector Bellerin’s indifferent form may prompt manager Mikel Arteta into finding a replacement and, with Hakimi keen on moving to England, it is a transfer to keep an eye on.
