Arsenal On Alert As La Liga Star (Who Arteta Is A Big Fan Of) Turns Down New Contract

Valencia winger Carlos Soler has rejected a new contract, according to reports in the Spanish media. The 25-year-old has been a target for Arsenal in the past, and this latest development could lead to them reviving their interest in the player.

Soler will have one year remaining on his current deal in the summer and, if he doesn’t put pen to paper on an extension, Valencia could be forced into selling one of their key players.

The Spanish international has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 19 appearances this season, and his ability to play anywhere in midfield would make him a useful addition to the squad.

So far this campaign, Soler has played on the left flank, as a right-winger and in central midfield. With manager Mikel Arteta keen on strengthening in the middle of the park, the Spaniard could be seen as a solution.

The Gunners boss is believed to be a fan of the midfielder, having pushed for his signing a couple of years ago, so it would not be a surprise if a move is looked at again this summer.
