Arsenal On Alert As Cash Strapped Dutch Club Weigh Up £23m Rated Playmaker’s Sale

Arsenal could well get their chance of signing midfielder Orkun Kokcu this summer with Feyenoord looking to free up funds to sign other players, according to Voetbal International.

Club finances have been hit right across Europe during the global health crisis, and the Dutch club are aware that their summer transfer business will need to be bankrolled through player sales.

Voetbal International claims Feyenoord are interested in Heerenveen midfielder Joey Veerman as they look to strengthen in the middle of the pitch, but the Eredivisie side cannot afford him.

It was reported last month that Arsenal were prepared to pay €26.5m (£23m) for Kokcu, and such a bid could well be accepted now with Feyenoord looking for extra cash.

The 19-year-old has scored three goals and contributed six assists in 35 appearances this campaign, with the playmaker having also previously been linked with Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City over the past year.
