Arsenal On Alert As La Liga Giants Consider Loan Exit For Potential Odegaard Alternative

Barcelona will likely accept a loan offer for midfielder Philippe Coutinho this summer, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Arsenal, Leicester and Everton are all said to be keeping an eye on the Brazilian international and it appears Barca are keen for the player to leave, even on a temporary basis, in order to reduce the wage bill.

It is believed that the Gunners and other interested clubs won’t make a move for Coutinho right away, though, as they are waiting to see how well he recovers from a recent knee operation.

Mikel Arteta wants to bring in a playmaker this summer, with Real Madrid’s Martin Odegaard said to be top of the list but, with Norwegian international looking like he will stay at the Bernabeu, alternatives will need to be looked at.

Leicester’s James Maddison has been considered, although his £60m plus price tag could prove prohibitive. With Coutinho available on loan, the ex Liverpool star would therefore be a cheaper option.
